Ethics and Law in Action
Presented and developed by Bruce Spencer, PhD, MA, LMHC, LMSW, NCC
Unfortunately Bruce Spencer is unable to facilitate this workshop. We have therefore postponed it. It will be held on December 8th at the Shoreline Center and taught by Eric Strom, JD, LMHC under the title: Ethics and Law in Practice. Sorry for the inconvenience.
Mental health practitioners are frequently challenged to "do the right thing" within the parameters of ethical and legal practice. For some, this includes a "fear factor" of legal repercussions or the loss of a license. Ethics and law are not synonymous terms, however there is frequently cross-over of intent and application of each.
This seminar will review ethics and laws most commonly problematic for the practitioner. In addition, the content will include numerous real case scenarios for participants to analyze, discuss and apply ethical decision-making processes. The seminar is designed to be interactive and participants are encouraged to ask questions regarding issues they have experienced.
